We believe fabrics with TENCEL™ fibers are a miracle.

So much so, that it is the basis of everything we make here at Stripe & Stare.

The Brief Cycle

Introducing TENCEL™

After 10 years of research and development, with literally 1,000’s of women wear-testing the prototypes and iterations, the perfect pair of briefs, made in a responsible way, was born. The ingredient of choice for a better approach to comfort? TENCEL™.

The Fabric.

TENCEL™ Modal fibers are moisture-wicking, anti-bacterial and highly flexible, resulting in long-lasting softness and gentleness to the skin. 95% of our main range is made up of TENCEL Micro x Modal. The other 5% is made from elastane, which is not biodegradable or compostable. Our products must have 5% elastane to be functional and wearable; otherwise they would fall down!

The fiber is fully biodegradable under soil, freshwater and marine environments. It's an effective substitute to fossil-based synthetic fibres, that are a big part of the plastic pollution problem.

These fibers have been scientifically proven to be 2-3 times softer than cotton, making it the perfect underwear fabric.

The Pulp-to-fiber Process.

TENCEL™ Modal fibres are produced by Eco Soft technology, an environmentally responsible choice offering exquisite softness to textiles. The technology uses an integrated process, from pulp to fiber, which has high recovery rates of process ingredients and generates very low emissions to air.

Derived from controlled and

certified wood sources.

Sustainably produced

from pulp, to fiber.

Uses 10–20 times less water than

conventional cotton over its lifecycle.

Introducing New Fabrics

We've launched two new fabrics! Our Soft Brushed Woven range is made from 100% EcoVero Viscose from Lenzing – ‘the new standard in eco-responsible viscose'. EcoVero fibres use at least 50% less water and emit at least 50% less Co2 compared to generic viscose.

We've also launched Eco Mesh, the oh-so soft and sustainable fabric made from recycled plastic bottles!
